Annual Faith Build

Edisto Habitat for Humanity’s Annual Faith Build is a collaborative effort involving local faith-based organizations and businesses. Churches and members of the faith community come together to help build and finance a home for a local family. We invite area congregations to put their faith into action by participating in this meaningful local mission.

Our 2023 Faith Build was a resounding success. A total of 27 local churches and faith-based groups sponsored this home and spent hundreds of hours volunteering to help complete the Habitat home.

The Dedication Ceremony had some incredible speakers to bless this home and talk about Edisto Habitat's work in the community. Al Jenkins, Regional Director of the Office of U.S. Senator Tim Scott, spoke in support of the need for affordable housing. Brenda Austin from CPM Federal Credit Union, our Financial Stability Partner, shared her experience working with Edisto Habitat for Humanity and the importance of financial education for homeowners and the community.

Women Build

Edisto Habitat’s Women Build event brings volunteers from all walks of life to build stronger, safer communities. Poor living conditions are most likely to affect women and children, and these events provide an opportunity for women to take a proactive step in serving their communities. Women Build not only helps provide affordable homeownership opportunities, but it also shines a light on equity and empowers females to make a positive impact in their communities.

Women Build is also a terrific way to involve your friends and family of all ages in crucial work with a lasting impact. You can
also come alone and make new friends; the atmosphere is collaborative and friendly!
